In the Upper Room

"glassoperaphile" brought our attention to this wonderful video of "In the Upper Room" Dance IX.  Ed contributed: "This is a program that was made for PBS. It was one of the "Great Performances" programs in the "Dance In America" series. It was televised in 1994or 1995. The beginning of the program is a commentary by Twyla Tharp and a demonstration of the Twyla Tharp dancers and her methods. The performance of "In The Upper Room" was performed by the "Twyla
Tharp Dancers."

I was pleased to find this video. I attended a performance of this ballet in March 2005 by the Birmingham Royal Ballet in the Theatre Royal in Plymouth, Devon. It rightly received a tremendous reception. Hugely enjoyable.
