I'm very shocked and sad at the loss of David Bowie! Glass reworked the albums Low and Heroes into symphonies.

Mick Garson mentioned in an interview with the Guardian today that Bowie had planned an album of Glass songs. I would loved to have heard that.

Great piece. I always wondered if Glass was influenced by the time he spent as Serra's assistant as well - both have a fondness for taking work that is similar or even identical and placing them in another context, where they take on an entirely different meaning.
